Vintage Valentines

I found these little gems at an antique sale. Love the design concepts + details of these valentines.

Lately I think my designs have had more of a simple, minimalistic feel (I’m in a less is more stage right now). One of the many things I enjoy about being artistic and creating is that you don’t need to put yourself in a box, you can be as minimal or as outrageous as you want to be. I love experimenting with new techniques and gleaning inspiration from my surroundings, and I encourage you to do the same. I think venturing outside your comfort zone can produce some amazing art, or at the very least give you a new perspective of your capabilities.

Happy Valentines Day!

Flying High On LOVE + A little Valentines day Inspiration!

Valentine’s Day is fast approaching which means LOVE is in the air!

I’ve been loving what a balloon can add to an event, it can add character and a whimsy feeling to any occasion. I’m a sucker for a good pastel palette or something a little more chic like black, gold, and cream it just depends on your soiree. I can already imagine a wall of white balloons with the word L-O-V-E spelled out in huge gold mylar letters at your wedding! The ideas are never ending when it comes to these simple pieces of decor. Be inspired!

You can purchase the large balloons with tassels from BHLDN or Cloud Parade.

Family Heirlooms

Recently, I was able to participate in a photo shoot with HELLO STUDIOS and as they were telling me all about their design ideas I immediately thought how perfect my late grandmothers goblets would be for the place settings. I gather a ton of my inspiration for my cards, invitations and logos from antiques & heirlooms and these goblets definitely inspired me. The delicate design and color is amazing, I love them! I thought you would like to enjoy them too!

Love is in the Air!

I’m in Love with this airplane/travel inspired wedding! The details that were created by each and every person involved were magical.

I hope you Love the paper details as much as I do, I loved incorporating the map elements into my designs.

You can totally DIY the place mats and the table # sign for your wedding. Here’s How…

Place Mats

You’ll need the following supplies:

1.1 piece of felt any size and color depending on your table decor.

2.Paper or fabric of your choice to stick to the fabric, I chose an old map!

3.A stencil or pattern of your choice, I chose a heart!

4.Lastly, you’ll need glue and scissors.

Directions: Trace your pattern onto the paper or fabric you have chosen. Take out your felt and lay it out, then turn over your cut out and glue the back of it and stick it to the felt! Voila! Your Done!

Table # Signs

You’ll need the following supplies:

1. 1 wooden stick.

2.Spray Paint, any color that matches your event theme.

3.Yarn, any color that matches your event theme.

4.Your printed table #

5. Glue

Directions: Spray paint the stick with the color of your choice (let it dry), in this case I chose Gold! Then Glue the printed table # onto the stick. Lastly you will want to wrap the yarn around the stick right underneath the table # print out. Once your done you will be able to stick your table # sign in the the flower arrangement or potted plan like we did here.

Hope these DIY’s are useful! let me know if you have any questions.

-Ladies & Gents-

This invitation is a favorite because it was designed for some really amazing friends Brandon & Emily Gatlin! Ashley designed this invite she created a warm western vibe to complement the bride and grooms vision of what they wanted their magical day to reflect. Ashley used a paper that looks worn and recycled called paper bag and then put together the perfect fonts and graphics to create a western feel. Next Ashley decided to create a pocket using some vintage fabrics that were found at an estate sale. Hope you enjoy this post, and while your at it check out the other talented vendors that helped create for Brandon and Emily’s western wedding!

friday night fun!

our most recent styling adventure involved sweets, coffee, and lots of chalk! when we started the project, we knew we wanted to go for a chalk-board themed invite and poster that would carry through to the actual event – we built a huge chalkboard to hang above the fireplace and made small chalkboard signs for each table at the event.

our goal was to create a cozy space for people to hang out and mingle in…. so what better way to encourage conversation than to offer coffee and dessert! we enlisted a couple of our favorite culinary craftsmen {Baked Amore provided all the delicious treats! Contact Chef Kylie for your next bash at 714.454.3130 or} and set up little nooks for people to sit and enjoy…. we also made sure to leave lots of standing room in the middle of the room {with a couple of cafe style tables} so that people could move freely through the space. a few white banners were hung to add a fun feel and also brought the eye level down and away from the generic ceiling.

friday night was a blast and we were so happy to see so many people enjoying the atmosphere that was created! so excited to design the next event!

Have a lovely weekend!
