friday night fun!

our most recent styling adventure involved sweets, coffee, and lots of chalk! when we started the project, we knew we wanted to go for a chalk-board themed invite and poster that would carry through to the actual event – we built a huge chalkboard to hang above the fireplace and made small chalkboard signs for each table at the event.

our goal was to create a cozy space for people to hang out and mingle in…. so what better way to encourage conversation than to offer coffee and dessert! we enlisted a couple of our favorite culinary craftsmen {Baked Amore provided all the delicious treats! Contact Chef Kylie for your next bash at 714.454.3130 or kylie.rae.williams@gmail.com} and set up little nooks for people to sit and enjoy…. we also made sure to leave lots of standing room in the middle of the room {with a couple of cafe style tables} so that people could move freely through the space. a few white banners were hung to add a fun feel and also brought the eye level down and away from the generic ceiling.

friday night was a blast and we were so happy to see so many people enjoying the atmosphere that was created! so excited to design the next event!

Have a lovely weekend!

Love,

a bundle of thank you’s

We were so inspired by this retro looking paper we found and immediately thought it would create a super cute retro/vintage themed bundle of THANK YOU NOTES!

There is nothing better than going to your mail box and discovering amongst the slew of bills and junk mail a sweet card waiting for you! AHHHHH…the joys of snail mail!

So for these Thank You Notes we decided to add this cool retro paper as part of the envelope liner to give it a little pop of color and fun as soon as its opened, the note card itself was designed to stay on the more simple side of design with a distressed type face.

Our mission is to create cards, notes, and invites that everyone will enjoy mailing out and be excited to receive! call or email {949.500.1588 – invitations@typologieandco.com} us if you want to order some of these exclusive TYPOLOGIE & CO. designed THANK YOU NOTES!

Master Colin’s 1st Bday Party!

So excited to present MASTER COLIN’s first Birthday Circus Extravaganza!!! We can’t believe he’s turning 1 already!!! Last year we styled and sent out invites for his mom’s baby shower and this year we are styling a birthday fete that would make any kid excited even if their only one!

We decided to use teal, red and white as our accent colors and since TYPO LOVES twine we decided use it to accent the frame border as a tool to hang up the invite, we thought it would cute up on the fridge as a reminder/cute decoration for the guest! We found the envelope liner and thought it would be such a cute addition to the circus/retro theme. You can see we were all too excited to get this in the mail, we tore it open with no hesitation! Oh and forgot to mention the SUPER cute comic book stamps, Dennis the Menace was the perfect final touch for a little boys birthday!!

I have to say I think THE SIGN for Colin is our favorite! We used the same font and twine on the sign as we did on the invite to hang the letters and lastly we used some super cute fringe we found at a fabric store to accent COLIN’s name!

The tickets, colorful sprinkles, candy & pop corn added so many more amazing touches to this fun birthday!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY COLIN!!!

Surprise Surprise!

Here we have a sweet surprise 30Th Birthday for our friend Kristyn! It took a couple of weeks scheming with Kristyn’s husband Michael so she wouldn’t find out, luckily everything went according to plan!! Just to fill everyone in the reason for the All Black attire of the party guest was to sort of get Kristyn back for planning a similar surprise for her husband Michael on his 30th birthday, they were in France on a missions trip chaperoning a bunch of students and friends when Kristyn had the bright idea to have everyone wear black that day…because you know 30 is SO old  hahhah… Anyways Michael thought everyone just decided to be fashionable that day until someone said something! Now he is getting her back not only with a wardrobe statement but a surprise party for the big 3-0!

We thought we would go with a yellow, black and silver theme, our favorite piece for this event was the paper banners that we created out of tissue paper, we cut each one out by hand to make those cool designs! We then found on one of our antiquing adventures a super vintage orange, yellow, black and white trey that we used to accent the table and set our flower arrangements on, which brings us to other fun find! All of those beautiful flowers were found at our local farmers market we spent only $3.00-$5.00 a bundle! I think our favorite flower is that cool black and white one, it’s called “the Queen”! Love it!!

Hope this was an inspirational post for all those planning a fun surprise party!!

Oh the Places You’ll Go!

emili's-shower-invite1w

If you haven’t read “Oh the Places You’ll Go” by Dr. Seuss, you need to go to your local book store and pick one up; it’s such a great read for all ages!! The colorful illustrations alone are worth a look…. which is why we used them for this fun project.

When Mallory came to us for her friend’s baby shower invites, she had pointed out Charlotte’s 1st birthday invites that we had created {see post here} and wanted something similar. After she told us that they would have colorful pennant flags at the shower, we took to the drawing board and knew that we wanted to incorporate mini flags along with some hand sketched books and the colorful pages of a Dr. Seuss book. We actually printed the “It’s a boy!” banner onto pages from “Oh the Places You’ll Go” to give it an extra bit of character {we also used that book and other Dr. Seuss faves for the envelope liners}.

We couldn’t just post a photo of one invite because they just looked so cute altogether – so much color! We had soooo much fun designing and creating these – thanks Mallory and the sweet mommy-to-be for letting us create for your shower!

Have a great weekend everyone!

Still celebrating love….

Happy Post-Valentines Day! :) Hope everyone had a wonderfully sweet Valentines Day!! Ashley here, and yes, we are still in the Valentines spirit over here at the TYPOLOGIE camp!! I’m not ready for it to end, so I thought I would share a photo of the little valentine I made for my sweet husband. I made the envelope out of a vintage piece of sheet music {since music is his other love ;)}, and created a hand-drawn message for an extra personal touch {the inside reads “us”}…. so glad he liked it. :)

Wishing everyone a lovely weekend!

With love,

A Very MOD Engagement

We are so excited to present to you A VERY MOD ENGAGEMENT featuring one of our favorite couples Branyn & Braden! The MOD era is one of our favorite scenes, so to create this look we were inspired by Twiggy, Andy Warhol, Bob Dylan circa 1950ish-60′s, Bright Colors, and LOVE!  For the SAVE THE DATE we chose to create a plain white 4×6 card with a hand sewed heart with the details printed underneath that mimicked an old-fashioned typewriter. Since this cute couple loooves music, we wanted to throw in a personalized accent so we created a garland made out of some vintage music pages found at an estate sale, cut them into little hearts and threaded them onto a fun orange yarn! We did the same thing with our L.O.V.E banner in our second look except we used some red yarn to match the red & silver balloons, we LOVE art and Andy Warhol so we wanted to incorporate some silver Mylar balloons and since Valentines was approaching we thought we would complete this look with some heart shapes instead of rectangles!

One of the funnest parts about this shoot was working with some amazing friends/vendors! Our photographer Aaron Young Photography was amazing, he is super artistic and captured so many details, the yummy cupcakes were created by Simply Sweet Cakery , our beautiful flowers were arranged by BB Blossom, makeup by Kristyn Smith (mkc3@mac.com), hair was cut and styled by Kelsey Brodersen (kelsbrodersen@yahoo.com), clothes were loaned by Dee-Lux {picked out by A&A}, and last but not least this shoot was styled by TYPOLOGIE & CO.!!!!

Thanks for reading, we hope you were just as inspired as we were!

An Inspiring Spring Wedding.

umbrella invite

We LOVE going to the fabric store and discovering new textiles and this one caught our eye immediately, we HAD to come up with a design to compliment this amazing fabric!

When we look at this invitation we envision a beautiful spring wedding, bright colors, brides maids or even the bride walking down the aisle with an umbrella instead of flowers, fused with an asian twist!

Just an idea for any bride this upcoming wedding season.
